Kerido Privacy Policy

Kerido LLC ("Kerido," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use our mobile application ("App") and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using Kerido, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use Kerido:

a. Account Information

  • Name, email address, and profile image (if provided)
  • Authentication details, such as one-time magic link tokens used for secure, passwordless sign-in

b. Event Data

  • Events you create or join, group names, chats, and messages shared within groups and with other users
  • Dates, times, locations, and any additional details associated with your events

c. Device & Usage Data

  • App usage statistics, crash logs, and analytics (via Supabase or other third-party tools such as Google Analytics)

d. Location Data (Optional)

  • If you enable location features, we may process your location to facilitate event coordination or arrival tracking.

e. Payment Information (Anticipated Functionality)

  • Future versions of Kerido may include payment capabilities handled by third-party providers such as Stripe.
  • We will not store your full payment information and will update this section when the functionality becomes available.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the Kerido app and its features
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between users
  • Authenticate users and maintain account security
  • Send relevant notifications (e.g., event reminders or updates)
  • Analyze usage patterns to enhance the user experience
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Information

We share data only when necessary:

  • With other users: Information you choose to share in groups or events.
  • With service providers: Hosting, analytics, authentication, and (future) payment processors that support our services (e.g., Supabase, Google, Stripe).
  • For legal reasons: If required by law or to protect our rights and users' safety.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Data Retention

We retain data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. You can delete your account or request data deletion at any time by contacting killian.frailey@kerido.co.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Access or delete your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Withdraw consent (e.g., disable location access)

6. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest provided by Supabase, and secure authentication via one-time magic links. However, data stored within Supabase can be viewed by authorized administrators, and the Service does not currently use end-to-end encryption for user content.

While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Children's Privacy

Kerido is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we do not have technical means to verify a user's age. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact killian.frailey@kerido.co so we can delete it.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be stored or processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure adequate protection consistent with applicable privacy laws.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised version.
